Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked already, I do not see a similar thread however. On the GMAT website its said Windows 8 and 10 editions are allowed. I recently bought a new laptop and wonder whether Windows 11 will be also ok?

Thanks for those with experience on that.
Best,
George

Hi George,

On the same page. Don't think it should be a problem. But, as suggested, better to check with GMAT folks.

Feel free to reach out in case of any queries!

Hi George and Experts ( AjiteshArun , ScottTargetTestPrep , GMATWhizTeam )

Did you get any further information? I am facing the same issue as I am using a Windows 11 OS. My test is a day and half away. Just to give a bit of context, system checks run fine and ESS Secure Browser is installed without any issues as well. I also wrote to GMAC but the representative just sounded like a broken record with no further informaton than what is provided on the website. Open to suggestions - should I go ahead and downgrade my system?

Also, I know this is discussed before but I often see confliciting information - Are wireless mouses and keyboards allowed on the test?

Best,
R

Hi RamseyGooner,

There are other people here who would know a lot more than I do about this, but you really should be able to use Windows 11 without any issues. As far as I know, 11 implements some hardware security restrictions that aren't there in 10 and introduces a new interface, but doesn't change anything on the software (compatibility) side. It's also worth noting that Examity (not mba.com) asks for "Windows Vista or higher". Given that you've run the System Check and everything seems to be working, I'd say that you're all set.

All the best.

Hi Experts,

The test day experience with respect to windows 11 was pretty smooth. There were some issues but thode were majorly due to
the ESS browser not responding. I will write a detailed debrief. I have a question though, my unofficial score right after the exam was 10 points higher than my offical score which I received about in 12 hours. The V and Q individual scores were same as those of the unofficial report. Is this common?

Hi RamseyGooner,

Thanks for the update. As for the score, I wouldn't say it's common, but it's possible. This is according to GMAC itself, though they were talking about the regular GMAT at the time (I've never seen a test taker's GMAT score change). I'm not sure whether the reason they gave applies to the online GMAT.

I don't think they'll change anything, but maybe consider reaching out to them and letting them know about this?
