Hi Again,

I was not sure if my two cents could really make a difference but I have still been requested to share my experience, so here I go....

It has been a roller coaster ride for me. I spent almost 6 months preparing for the exam, studying almost everything that I could lay my hands on. Most of the tips on the site made a great difference. I definitely was aiming for a higher score but have ended up with just a 710.

I started with the OGs and the Manhattan material, went on to join a classroom course and completed the course in Nov'09. Tried my hand at a few mocks and was not very happy with the results. Got started with the Kaplan Premier, 800 and Quiz Bank, and it was end of Dec'09, and I was still not happy with the results. Got started with the Knewton course in January'10, and this is where I learnt a great deal about SC, RC and CR. The Knewton course really made a big difference in the way I started looking at the RC and CR, and my confidence in dealing with the toughest of the RC questions went up. I have all my scores here and the fluctuations in my scores were really a big concern for me, I was at the end of my wits trying to control these spikes. I could not push taking the real thing anymore, had to do it today else I would have worked harder on my verbal and managed to smoothen the spikes...

S.N. Date Test Q V Total

1 24-Nov-09 Manhattan 48 34 680
2 25-Nov-09 Kaplan CD 38 33 590
3 26-Nov-09 Kaplan CD 37 32 570
4 29-Nov-09 Knewton 47 23 580
5 14-Dec-09 Manhattan 48 37 700
6 30-Dec-09 Kaplan 53 36 710
7 26-Jan-10 Knewton 47 34 670
8 09-Feb-10 Knewton 51 35 710
9 14-Feb-10 Knewton 44 32 630
10 15-Feb-10 Kaplan 52 51 770
11 16-Feb-10 Manhattan 50 36 710
12 18-Feb-10 GMAT 45 36 640
13 19-Feb-10 Knewton 44 31 620
14 20-Feb-10 GMAT 50 38 730
15 21-Feb-10 Manhattan 51 36 710
16 22-Feb-10 Real Thing 51 34 710

If I were to do it all over again, I think I'd get started with Knewton for the site covers the maximum material in the most comprehensive manner. They have some excellent faculty. Knewton's law helps review fundamentals in a great way. The kind of support the faculty extends in terms of solutions to tougher problems from any source is amazing. I'd follow Knewton with Manhattan Books, OGs, Kaplan 800 and Kaplan Quiz Bank. Complete the Manhattan Challenge Problems, and the MGMATs. Top all this up with the 2 GMAT Preps and this should ideally be enough to get to a 780.

The importance of learning from every single mistake or every single tough problem cannot be over emphasized. Error Log is the most powerful tool that one must maintain, and 'Knewton's Law' not only has automated this but also made it very comprehensive.

Once again, a big thank you to all the contributors and creators of the site. And a bigger thank you to Knewton.
