why not D? can someone please clarify between E and D?

Posted from my mobile device

"She was a women" mean that earlier was women, but not now. In D, 'was' is used.. This is not right.
hence E.

Dear srishti201996,

I'm happy to respond. :-)

My friend, this SC practice question is a complete embarrassment. I am not convinced that the author of the question is fluent in English, because the extremely poor construction seems characteristic of someone who thinks he understands English and really does not. My friend, please do not worry that you this doesn't seem clear to you--it's not your fault at all!

Does all this make sense?
Mike :-)
