The 180 students in a group are to be seated in rows so that there is an equal number of students in each row. Each of the following could be the number of rows EXCEPT

(A) 4
(B) 20
(C) 30
(D) 40
(E) 90

(A) \(\frac{180}{4} = 45\)
(B) \(\frac{180}{20} = 9\)
(C) \(\frac{180}{30} = 6\)
(D) \(\frac{180}{40} = 4.50\)
(E) \(\frac{180}{90} = 2\)

Hence, Answer must be (D)

Check visibility of given number against 180. Reminder should be 0. If not getting reminder 0 then that is the answer.
