The area of the triangle formed between the x-axis, y-axis, and line K is 24. If the x-intercept of the line is 8 and the slope is positive, what is the y-intercept of the line?

I would suggest making a diagram for visualization.
Given:
1. Slope is positive -> So there are only two ways triangles can be formed using x & y axis and line K. I have shown this through K0 and K1
2. X intercept = 8, ie. the line K crosses X axis at (8,0) --> from this we can say that the correct K line would be K0
3. Area of triangle = 24
Area of triangle = 1/2 * base * height = 24
base * height = 24*2
We have been given one point (8,0) which is our base, so base length is 8 units
8 * height = 48
height = 48/8 = 6 units
6 units is the length of the height, since the slope is positive and the only possible K line will have a negative y intercept, the y intercept will be negative 6
Therefore option D) -6 is correct
