Break this sentence into simpler form through burn and slash (burn or slash what ever is not needed/ is additional information)



The evidence of water on the surface of Mars, away from the polar ice caps, obtained by recent photos of the Martian surface is so much stronger than atmospheric data once trumpeted as proof of water on Mars, and so many astronomers are calling it the first proof of Mars having non-polar water.

(A) once trumpeted as proof of water on Mars, and so
not parallel, run on sentence

(B) once trumpeted as proof of water on Mars that
Simple form 'So.... that'


(C) once trumpeted that it is proof of water on Mars, and so
Meaning, who trumpeted? not clear

(D) that they had once trumpeted as proof of water on Mars, so that

They had? who is they refering to? pronoun error

(E) that they had once trumpeted as proof of water on Mars, and
