Thanks Sajjad1994 and Apt0810 for posting the questions and answers. I don't understand why the answer to 3 (c) is No. The Gala Coordinator says, "We require: ...a punch fountain or fountains (a dessert fountain would be a lovely addition)." I thought the word "or" meant either a punch fountain or fountains (a dessert fountain...) would be fine. If you get her a punch fountain, then fountains would be optional. If you get her the fountains, then a punch fountain would be optional. Please help. Thank you very much for any comment.

Do not go so much deep into it. Keep it simple.

Gala Coordinator said that they need fountain or fountains [hence fountains is not an optional]
and a dessert fountain would be a lovely addition [a particular type of fountain is optional]

a dessert fountain is a sub-type of fountain that is optional but they must need a fountain or fountains.

sajjad Hey, Sajjad! Can you explain Part (c) of Question 1? Thanks!
OE

According the Email #1, the organization requires tables, audio, food, and a punch fountain. The organization’s budget is $6,000. To determine whether the organization will go over budget by at least 15%, calculate the cheapest possible cost of using BrightRight.

According to Email #2, BrightRight’s 8-person tables cost $20 each. Since 50 tables are needed to seat 400 people, the total cost of tables is $20 × 50 = $1,000. The Classic Western BBQ costs $14 per person, so the total cost of food is $14 × 400 = $5,600.

The Party Sound System costs $650, and the Punch Fountain costs $350. Therefore, the cheapest possible cost of hiring Bright-Right to cater the gala is $1,000 + $650 + $5,600 + $350 = $7,600. In this case, the project will go over budget by $1,600, or by × 100 ≈ 27%. Since the project will go over budget by at least 15%, the statement is true.

Answer: True

Hi, the first tab states that the gala coordinator mentions to "have reasons if she needs to justify going over budget for hiring BR" this means she is willing to consider asking for budgetary increase (Y for first)
The assistant also mentions about food (comparing across the 2 caterers), so this means audio isnt the only consideration hence its correct "Y for second"

Hope this helps!

Question 1:

Statement 1: YES (True)
If using DoxySource with one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert per person ($11.65/person), the total food cost is $4,660. The minimum table cost (50 Trestle tables at $15.50 each) is $775, which represents 16.63% of the food cost—matching the claim of approximately 16.6%.

Statement 2: YES (True)
BrightRight’s large punch fountain costs $8.75 per gallon (40 gallons for $350). DoxySource’s punch fountains cost $6.71 per gallon (7 gallons for $47). This represents a 23.27% savings per gallon with DoxySource—exceeding the claimed 20% savings.

Statement 3: YES (True)
Using BrightRight’s minimum configuration (Party Sound audio $650, Western BBQ catering $5,600, Classroom tables $1,000, and Punch fountain $350) totals $7,600. This exceeds the $6,000 budget by $1,600, representing a 26.67% overage—well above the claimed 15% minimum.

Question 2:
Cost efficiency comparison:
• Trestle tables: $1.94 per seat ($15.50 ÷ 8 seats)
• Circular tables: $2.43 per seat ($17.00 ÷ 7 seats)
Since Trestle tables are cheaper per seat, the optimal strategy is to minimize Circular tables and maximize Trestle tables.
Optimal configuration:
• 1 Circular table (minimum required): $17.00 (seats 7)
• 50 Trestle tables (for remaining 393 guests): $775.00 (seats 400)
• Total: $792.00 (seats 407 total, accommodating all 400 guests)

Question 3:

Statement 1: “The Gala Coordinator is willing to ask for a budgetary increase, if necessary” - YES
Evelyn explicitly states in her email: “I’d like to consider how to justify any over-budget costs from using BrightRight” and “Our budget is $6,000.00.” She’s asking for a cost comparison to justify potential budget breach.

Statement 2: “According to the Administrative Assistant, audio costs are not the only determining factor in choosing one event planning service over another” - YES
Gloria explicitly states: “The biggest price difference comes in the audio systems” and discusses multiple other factors including catering packages, hands-on involvement, and overall elegance. She presents audio as one factor among many, not the sole determining factor.

Statement 3: “Fountains are an optional element of the gala” - NO
Evelyn’s email clearly lists the requirements: “We require: tables, audio, food, and a punch fountain or fountains (a dessert fountain would be a lovely addition).” The punch fountain is listed as a requirement, while the dessert fountain is described as optional (“would be a lovely addition”).
