Error Analysis:-The sentence has only one error use of "not any more difficult" it conveys the incorrect meaning that the wives whose husbands frequently travel donot find their marriages any more difficult i.e they had difficulty previously. But the intended meaning compares the difficulty of their marriages.
Answer choice analysis
A. not any more difficult than do the wives of husbands who sleep at home every night - wrong as stated above.
B. not any more difficult than do the wives of husbands who are sleeping at home every night - same as A
C. no more difficult than do the wives of husbands who sleep at home every night - correct
D. no more difficult than do the wives of husbands who are sleeping at home every night - use of incorrect tense "are sleeping" suggests the husbands who are currently sleeping at home. But the sentence uses sleep to mean that husbands who generally sleep at home.
