Mary:Mother = 1:2

Mary : Father = 1:3

i.e. Mary:Mother:Father = 1:2:3

Mary =10 years

Mary:Mother:Father = (10):(20):(30)

Answer: Option C

But the language seems very ambiguous because at the time of birth mary's age can't represent 1... Mary should be atleast 1 year old for this to be true

At the time of birth if the ratio between Mary's age and her mother's age was 1:2, then her mother must have been 2 years old, that is if we take Mary's age to be 1, which is not correct in itself. Either the question is wrong or it's wrongly worded.

Let Mary's age at birth be x.
Let her mother's age be M and father's age be F

x/M = 1/2
M = 2x

x/F = 1/3
F = 3x
This is at the time of Mary's birth, so the ages of her mother and father are in (ratio 2:3)

So 10 years later, the ratio is 2x+10 : 3x+10

IMO, the answer is e. None of the above or the question is wrongly worded!

The question is not correctly framed ... At the time of Mary's Birth, her age will be 0 ratio doesnt matter.. Anyways E would be the answer ..

Even If we assume initial age of mary as 1 then age of her mother and her father would be 2 and 3 respectively.
In that case the current age of mother and father would be 11 and 12.:. Answer would remain as E.

I agree ... language is ambiguous..we can do this by assuming numbers...
Consider 10 ... Mary's age 10
Mary's mother age 20
Mary's father age 30
M:F =2:3
C option
Please correct me if I am wrong.....

That ratio of ages between mary's mother and mary's father mentioned is 2:3, it is at the time of birth. They are asking for the currrent age ratio ... 2x+10/3x+10...
