What is source of these passage?
How 'E' can be answer for second question no where its stated that dendritic cell can penetrate brain membrane
its Taxoplasma(mentioned in passage 1)

HEY,
first of all, this is inference question.....the answer choice will not be stated as it is in the passage , rather it will be distorted. For the E can be inferred
from the passage. Taxoplasma can penetrate human brain ( mentioned in the first paragraph)..but Taxoplasma can move to the body only by using Dendritic cell
( mentioned in the last line of 2nd paragraph).
SO dendritic cell can penetrate brain membrane.
hope it helps!!!!
It only means that when dendritic cells carry toxo, it can penetrate the brain protection.
i feel Option C( Most dendritic cells of persons infected with Toxoplasma carry the parasite) is more accurate in that terms @Veritasprepkarishma can you please help on this one?

I have doubt on option B of question 2.

In the second paragraph the passage states that:
"Dendritic cells are found in the digestive tract"

I think, the chances of whether "ARE FOUND" part of this sentence gives us "CAN BE FOUND" or "ONLY FOUND" is 50%-50%. This sentence alone neither EXPLICITLY or IMPLICITLY tells us which one.

I simply cannot 100% infer that "ARE FOUND" = "CAN BE FOUND" (in other words "they can be in other parts of the body")

Though I am also aware that we cannot 100% infer that "ARE FOUND" = "ONLY FOUND"

Please, help me understand this.
You're correct that "Dendritic cells ARE FOUND in the digestive tract" does NOT necessarily mean ONLY FOUND. You're correct that the passage does not specify. That's why we can eliminate B. In the passage, no comparison is being made, but choice B says: "They are MORE numerous in the digestive tract than in ANY OTHER part of the human body."

Note that these "Wrong Comparison Traps" are very common, throughout verbal. When we see "Comparison Markers" (more X than Y, as X as Y, etc.) in an answer choice, we must always be careful to check that it's fully supported.

I think B is wrong because in questions it is asking about dendritic cells
If it asked about the parasite in question this choice would be correct

"cats are a necessary component in the reproductive cycle of Toxoplasma".... what do we mean by component???? are there five six components in the reproductive cycle of Toxoplasma and cat is one of them? and where is it written that Toxoplasma can reproduce only in a host cat. Therefore, any Toxoplasma cells that remain in the human body are not likely to reproduce. Expert help me 3 no. question... while explaining also consider last line: Because Toxoplasma must somehow find its way into a new host cat in order to reproduce, it cannot kill its current host. Instead, it waits for the host, usually a small rodent, to be eaten by a cat, thus providing Toxoplasma the opportunity to reproduce.

The answer to question 4 should be choice B because in choice C the phrase ' biological event occurs in humans' seem to be vague.

Actually, we often find that vagueness is a good trait in an RC answer. The less the answer says, the easier it is for it to be true. For instance, if C said "tells us some things," how could it be wrong? Surely the purpose is to tell us some things, even if that's not very specific! Now, as soon as we add detail, that detail can be wrong. For instance, of C said "tell us some things about dendritic cells," it would now fail. Of course, it does indeed tell us things about dendritic cells, but providing that information is not the sole point, since the passage is only telling us about these cells to explain how Toxoplasma does its work in the body. In a similar vein, B fails because it adds a single unsupported word: "lethal."

In short, one wrong detail can sink an RC answer, so the less an answer says, the safer it is.

The single-celled parasite known as Toxoplasma gondii infects more than half of the world's human population without creating any noticeable symptoms. Once inside the human body, x. Toxoplasma rapidly spreads to the heart and other organs. It can even penetrate the tight barrier that normally protects the brain from most pathogens. Yet, the blood of infected persons carries very few free-floating Toxoplasma cells. Scientists have long been puzzled by this ability of Toxoplasma to parasitize the human body without triggering an immune response and without an appreciable presence in the bloodstream. Recent research, however, has shed light on the ways in which Toxoplasma achieves its remarkable infiltration of the human body.

y. Though there are few individual Toxoplasma cells coursing freely in the blood of an infected person, scientists have discovered that the parasite is quite common in certain cells, known as dendritic cells, involved in the human immune system. z. Dendritic cells are found in the digestive tract and frequently come into contact with the various pathogens that enter the human body through food and water. When the dendritic cells encounter pathogens, they travel to lymph nodes and relay this information to other immune cells that then take action against the reported pathogen. Scientists have found, however, that Toxoplasma is capable of hijacking dendritic cells, forcing them from their usual activity and using them as a form of transportation to infect the human body quickly. Without this transport mechanism, Toxoplasma could not reach the better-protected areas of the body.

2. It can be inferred from the passage that which of the following statements is true of dendritic cells in the human body?

(A) They are produced by the lymphatic system.
(B) They are more numerous in the digestive tract than in any other part of the human body.
(C) Most dendritic cells of persons infected with Toxoplasma carry the parasite.
(D) They are the only cells capable of being infected by Toxoplasma.
(E) They are able to penetrate the membranes surrounding the brain.

Can anyone please explain why the correct answer for question 2 is (E) and not (B)?

From highlighted parts x and y, we can safely say that Toxoplasma is commonly found in the dendritic cells AND that Toxoplasma can even penetrate the membrane surrounding the brain. this justifies that dendritic cells are able to penetrate the membranes surrounding the brain.
However, from highlighted part z, we know that dendritic cells are found in the digestive tract. The passage does not mention anywhere whether or not the dendritic cells could be found in other body parts. Option B says that dendritic cells are more numerous in the digestive tract than in any other part of the human body. From this, we can deduce that the dendritic cells are more numerous in digestive tract (if any other body organ has 0% or 40% of the total, digestive tract still has more).
