The sum of positive integers x and y is 77. What is value of xy?

(1) x= y+1

(2) x and y have the same tens digit.

x+y = 77

statement 1 : x = y+1

2y +1 = 76, y = 38, x = 39, Suff

statement 2

tens digit is same, to have a sum of 77 tens digit of both has to be 3,

so either x=38 and y=39

OR x=39 and y=38

in both cases xy is same, suff
