The travel expenses from city X to city Y using Bus or Train or Plane are in the ratio 3:4:6 respectively. Expenses on Plane travel is how more than the expense on Bus travel?

1. The expenditure on train travel is $60 more than 2/3 of the expenditure on Bus travel.
2. If the expenditure on Bus travel were $10 more, the ratio of expenditure on bus travel to that on plane travel would be 5:9

The travel expenses from city X to city Y using Bus or Train or Plane are in the ratio 3:4:6 respectively. Expenses on Plane travel is how more than the expense on Bus travel?

Let x be the common factor of all the charges, which implies
Bus Charges = 3x
Train charges = 4x
Plain charges = 6x
Required = 6x-3x = 3x

1. The expenditure on train travel is $60 more than 2/3 of the expenditure on Bus travel.
Train Charge = 2/3(Bus charge) + 60
\(4x = 60 + 2/3*(3x)\)
2x = 60
x = 30
implies 3x = 90
Sufficient

2. If the expenditure on Bus travel were $10 more, the ratio of expenditure on bus travel to that on plane travel would be 5:9
\(3x+10/6x = 5/9\)
Solving for x,
x = 30 implies 3x = 90
Sufficient

Option D is correct
