Need some clarification. Is this correct?
So as = conveys intention

What does "so as to" mean?
Yes, "so as to" indicates "in order to". Since economy did not grow with the intent of accelerating the inflation, "so as to" is not a great fit here.

p.s. Our book EducationAisle Sentence Correction Nirvana discusses "so as to", its application and examples in significant detail. If you or someone is interested, PM me your email-id; I can mail the corresponding section.

The treasury market dropped in response to a decrease in the value of the dollar and to continued concern that the economy might be growing as fast as to accelerate inflation and drive interest rates higher.

A. that the economy might be growing as fast as -- as fast as to accelerate denotes deliberate intention by the economy, a wrong intent per se

B. that the economy might be growing fast enough -- the best choice
C. with the economy’s possibly growing so fast as --- economy' possibly growing is bad grammar. The noun after the possessive adjective is missing.
D. with the possibility of the economy growing fast enough so as ----fast enough so as denotes intention
E. with the possibility of the economy possibly growing fast enough-- possibility of the economy possibly growing is awkwardly redundant

Need some clarification. Is this correct?
So as = conveys intention
as X as = conveys comparison between 2 nouns

What does "so as to" mean?

Hello deetsbeast,

We hope this finds you well.

To answer your query, "so as to" is synonymous with "in order to", however, its usage in this contxt on the GMAT is rare, as it is needlessly wordy.

A more common usage is the idiomatic construction "so + cause + as to + effect", which is used to convey cause-effect relationships.

To understand the concept of "So As To" on GMAT, you may want to watch the following video (~1 minute):
