I really desperately need some insights as to whether I should apply now or wait out for the next session ie., Fall 2012.
My profile is : Indian Female. Age 30. GMAT 730. 7+ work experience in telecom industry(engineering role)
My post MBA aspiration is Management or Strategy Consulting
I took the GMAT in November end 2010. This left me with very little time to apply. Most schools had their Round 2 application in Jan and I did submit two applications (and will be interviewed at one) but those were not my top priority schools.
My dilemma is should I apply in Round 3 to some schools. I am thinking CMU Tepper, Tuck and UNC or should I wait out for a couple of more months and target the fall 2012 session. I would definitely need Financial Aid and I do want to invest my time and energy in a great school. But age is definitely not on my side. I will be wasting another year and US schools prefer younger applicants
Please give me a frank opinion. Will MBA from CMU Tepper or Tuck prepare me enough to make a switch to the consulting domain and get me a job with a great company? Should I wait this year and apply in round 1 2011?
I desperately need your insights and will appreciate it.

Apply Round 1 if you can. Sure, you're not getting any younger, but you're still better off putting together a strong application in Round 1 where you have a better chance. Round 3 will be more of a gamble.
