Is It Too Late To Start Applications for Round 2?From https://www.mbaadmit.comNearly every client who has enrolled with us this week at
https://www.mbaadmit.com has started their conversation by saying something like, “Is it too late?” or “I know I’ve messed up by starting so late….”
Actually, you are right on time.
We typically get over half of our Round 2 candidates enrolling around now and even during the week of Christmas (end-December)! After all, many candidates are waiting for the holiday period at the end of December, when their work typically slows, to take some time off and focus 100% on their applications.
Why is it worth working with a great consultant even if you only have a couple of weeks or a couple of days before your deadlines? A great consultant can help to transform your essays, so it is worth working with one, even if you only have a few days before the deadline. To get good benefit from working with a consultant, all you need is a few days to go through a strategy session, draft your essays (or re-draft them, if that is the case), and have your consultant edit your essays. With any luck, you will enroll with enough time to have a great consultant also review your recommendations. (Your recommendations are very important!)
So, if you are delaying preparing an application because you are fearful it is too late, the surprise news for you is that a large number of candidates mobilize their applications with only a few weeks to go before the Round 2 deadlines. So, you are in good company.
Here’s a great anecdeote for you: Last year, a candidate emailed me about 4 days prior to the Round 2 Stanford MBA application deadline. I have handled many many clients with such a tight timeframe, but this candidate had about a 2.8 GPA! While there were many fascinating things about his background and qualifications, I thought he would be a long shot and we discussed his odds. But I worked with him to put together the best application he could with his overall credentials. The great news: he got in! All with about 4 days of application preparation!
Don’t let go of your ambitions. If you want to apply in Round 2, you still have time.
