Hi there,

I am an applicant from Pakistan and want to target schools in the top 10 group. Given my finances, it would be really hard for me to contribute much to my cost, and a 100% loan is a big financial commitment. Therefore, I want to focus on schools with higher chances of financial aid. Any suggestions??

My stats:
GMAT: 710,
GPA: 3.74
First Gen College Grad

You're probably aiming down the ranking lists then given GMAT score etc. Schools ranked 25 and lower will give you a much better shot at scholarships or fellowships.

MBAs are pretty much a huge committment anyway and many applicants are intending taking 100% loans if they can get into the top schools with the view that they will see a quick payback. Investigating available loan opportunities at all schools is worth considering.

Thanks for reply.

I would also take a loan if available up to total cost of attendance. But after some preliminary research, i got a feeling that even some top schools (e.g.Berkeley Haas) have caps on loans. So how to bridge these gaps??

I realize that getting admission is the real hurdle, but a way to fully finance cost of attendance can help me shortlist schools.

A 710 GMAT will not land you scholarships at top 10 schools unless you have a gold plated job and your story is spectacular. You are right in that most schools don't offer 100% loans - this is rare these days. You would have to put up some money yourself - you can try crowdfunding pools like Prodigy but interest rates are exhorbitant.
