Its that time of year...you guys are in the awful waiting period, and I'm in the middle of finals. Joy. Hang in there guys!

Georgetown releases all decisions on the same day. Some admits will receive a phone call (202 area code if you are screening calls), and others will only learn of their acceptance once the admissions decisions are released online. I believe that international students get calls first. Phone calls to those in the USA start on the east coast and progress according to time zone. I was living in California at the time when I received my admit call, and it was around 1pm. So don't fret if someone posts about his admissions decision at 9am and you haven't heard anything. You may not hear anything until late afternoon.

Good luck!

2012applicant: quick question! Could you tell us how Georgetown releases its decision? Do they start calling a few days before like some of the other schools? Or do they post the all decisions on the same day?

Hi folks. I'm in for R2. Interviewing this weekend in Taiwan. Unfortunately my interview, the only slot left at the time, will happen at 8 in the AM! I asked twice for a Skype interview as i am not in the best shape for traveling at the moment, but they flatly said i'm either coming to Taiwan or i'm out.
I'll be sharing my interview exp.

Good luck - hope the trip turns out to be worth it for you!

Thanks! My interviewer is Lori K Winters. I am not able to find much about this person on Google. Did anyone interviewed with her?

Ok my interview was very short. Strictly 30min.
Anyway, the question was standard, there was no difficult question, not grilling question, and Lori Winters had a perfect poker face, so it is hard to tell what she thinks of me. :D
Here are some of the questions (in random order)

- walk me through your resume
- which club you want to participate in
- what is your hobby
- what mistakes did you make during the course of your career and what did you learn from it
- what is the most constructive criticism you have ever had

Then I asked her 3-4 questions.

Sorry to hear that - I'm still waiting to hear from SFS (and nervous about their low acceptance rate!). I think those decisions are released the same day as the business school decisions 1/15. My understanding is that the admits/denials are completely separate - so it shouldn't affect McDonough.

I had F2F interview with Lori Winters in Taipei, Taiwan last week. It was short 30 minute interview.

Some of the questions i remember are (not in any order) -

1. Walk me through your resume and why MBA
1a. Several interruptions to ask details about things mentioned on my resume.
2. What is one thing your class mates will be interested to know about you which is not on your resume.
3. What are your short-term and long-term goals?
4. Why Georgetown?
5. What is your biggest professional mistake?
6. Difficult person to deal with and how did u handle the situation.
7. What is the most constructive criticism you have received?
8. Any questions for me?

My profile is:
GMAT: 680 (Q49, V34, AWA 4.5)
WE: almost 6 years, Pre-sales consultant.

Cheers..

I think the interviews with the adcoms are much more intense than with students. This being said, do you guys think that those are interview with adcoms are more scrutinized?

Hard to know. I agree that the adcom interviews seem more intense. The questions reported by tryin700 are certainly more detailed than the ones I received - and probably present more of an opportunity to trip up. I assume that admissions probably knows this and incorporates that variable into their final analysis.

Also, aren't all or most of the adcom interviews conducted in international hubs? If so, and if the majority of those interviewed at the hub locations are international candidates, it's likely the interviewer is trying to gauge slightly different things.

For instance, I was asked about my international experience. That same question might seem redundant for someone being interviewed abroad. Likewise, as a native English speaker, I doubt my interviewer felt the need to report on my English proficiency.

Just received an email from Georgetown MBA. All I could see in the subject line was "McDonough School...". Turned out to be just a Business E-News letter, but my heart definitely started to race.

Is finding out early too much to hope for?

Don't worry, I've been getting these emails since before I submitted my application. Probably only because I signed up for every Georgetown mailing list imaginable.

Everything in the newsletter is linked to the website, info on their undergrad program ranking well, and a McDonough/ESADE Alliance, etc.

Since the decisions are going to be rolled out soon, all the best for those awaiting responses from Georgetown. I have decided to go to Georgetown and would love to see you all this fall as my fellow classmates. If I could be of any help, please drop in a message, it would be my pleasure to be of any assistance.

And those who are anxious, I can understand as I was going through the same couple of months ago. Just hang in there and be positive !

Once again, all the best !

Hi garuda,

Congrats on your admit and thanks for the offer of support. This last week can't go by any faster :| . I was wondering if you would be willing to share your profile as well as the type/amount of financial aid you got. I would love to get admitted to Georgetown, but would also enjoy some sort of scholarship since I've received offers from other schools so far.

Thanks!

Will the decisions be released early or only on that notification date?
