I attended an admissions event held by Stanford recently. A few notes -
What they claim a Stanford MBA candidate can expect -
1. a career with impact and a life with meaning
2. insane levels of greatness. never settle
3. personal transformation. not just an MBA factory.
Areas of focus
1. Critical analytical thinking - ability to create an argument and defend it.
2. Personal leadership . The slide contained a photo of Gandhi and it said - What would Gandhi do? Talked about the "touchy-feely" class
3. Innovative thinking
4. Collaborative culture. Grade non-disclosure - gives you the freedom to try out different things.
5. People - a. people whose brains scare you b. people whose brains help you.
6. Global understanding
A couple of key phrases(cliches?) I noted down
1. Demonstrated leadership potential
2. Someone who has sought out stretch roles
