Sorry homie, but the decisions come out in a clump starting a week or two before the decision date. When you interview really has no bearing on when you find out once decisions start being released. For people who interview early in the round it can make for a very long wait.
If you've already interviewed I'd sit back and relax and not even think about it. No need to stress yourself out til mid-late March. At that point feel free to panic in earnest.
Cheetarah,
I just read your blog post(s). Forgive me but my eyes exploded when you said you started with a 1400 word essay for Kellogg!?! I'm glad you got it pared down. Not gonna lie I was freaking about going over by 35 words on one of my essays. I remember consulting every website imaginable to make sure my ish wouldn't get tossed in the trash. Embarrassingly I even called one of my other schools to ask them this... n e ways we should plan on co-authoring a blog posting sometime here in the near future (maybe DAK themed?). And I will be inviting you to social events (since you've decided to emerge from social hermitdom) even though I know you can't make em.
Senator, you can probably tell from my blog that my writing style is very long winded. I like to provide a detailed setup before diving into the substance of what I'm writing. That's how I approached my 1st draft of Kellogg's first essay. However, I soon realized that Kellogg really did not need to know about every career decision, triumph, mistake, etc. I've made since joining my company in 2002. While it was cathartic to write it all out, it was beyond unnecessary. Ironically, some of the material from that 1st draft wound up finding its way into my final draft.
Oh, for anyone applying R3 please allow me to offer this advice. Do NOT delete or save over your drafts as you revise them. Stuff that you cut one day can often add value to the version you write 3 weeks later. It's difficult to remember that great thing you said in version 1 that didn't work in version 2 but is perfectly tailored for version 5. When you have it saved it's easy as pie to find it and copy/paste. Good luck!
Back to you Senator, I would definitely be down to co-author a blog post with you. Writing one about DAK is a great idea!
