Hi,

Are there no information sessions scheduled for Round 2 applicants. I was looking forward to the reduced application fee, but does look like the ship has sailed now.
You can have alumni or current student refer you for reduced fee.

I will also be there on the 21st. There is actually a Duke Basketball game there but getting tickets is impossible.

I'm a current student. You can get better prices from scalpers around Cameron. $325 is silly.

Also if you attend Duke, you have free tickets to every sporting event (free if you don't count tuition...) and that includes basketball. The campout only gets you a guarantee of the UNC game which is truly a "bucket list" experience. If you need to get a sense of the rivalry, check this out from last year: https://deadspin.com/5756183/dear-pathet ... s-heats-up

Hi all,

After some interview advice please.

I'm interviewing in Australia with an alumni interviewer. My interview is on a weekend and I'm expecting it to be held just at a local cafe in the CBD.

Given the setting do I still go with the full suit and tie combo or do I go with something a little more casual, say a blazer and smart trousers?

Thanks in advance!

A suit, despite the setting it is still an interview. Your interviewer may be dressed more casually and that's okay, your more formal attire will be considered as "over enthusiasm."

FYI if you interview on campus business casual is fine.

You won't hear back for awhile. People get off WL after each of the decision rounds, and slowly during the summer. I think you best bet right now is to hold your place at the other school, and see how things progress with Fuqua. There are plenty of people who go off of the waitlist, so don't give up hope.

Don't be so concerned with the word count. Focus on telling a good concise story. The AdCom has to read thousands of essays. I am sure they appreciate a short concise but poignant essay.

Anybody know how much emphasis the adcom places on the interviews? Is it a make or break?

Purely speculation here. I feel that the interview is for fit. To see if you are the person that impressed the AdCom on paper. I feel that if you got an interview, one of your foot is already in the door, it's up to you get the other foot in.

Folks,

Do you have any idea if 'No classes on Wednesday' rule is only for Fuqua or is it present in other business schools?

Current students, what do you do on a wednesday?

Most school have a day off for recruiting purposes. Or in HBS's case, a whole week off. There will be plenty of activities to keep you booked solid, even on Wednesdays.
