I'm doing feeble attempts at reverse psychology - "hope I don't get invited so I don't have to fly to London in November!" Who am I kidding though... tick-tock it goes, now the pendulum, now the telltale heart. If my application was half as good as my literary references, I would be less worried.

Similar. What I dread is breaking it to those who have a somewhat skewed perspective of me... you know, the "What? YOU didn't make it??" type (who, in the reverse situation, would have reacted with "Of course you made it!").
