I submitted a day or two before the January deadline and received my interview invite this morning. There's only one alum in my area to interview with.

You'd better hope that your one person is as responsive as @elian's people, and not unresponsive as it seems most GC-er's were. Good luck!!
Just to add to the discussion (and maybe provide an alternate experience): I got invited to interview this morning (as mentioned on the previous page), submitted the location request for interviewers, and got my three options about half an hour later. I picked the one I wanted (I think it'll be a great fit and am very excited to meet him), emailed him at in the early PM, and he responded within 3 minutes. Interview is scheduled for next week!

Congratulations!!! I bet the worst part was the wait! Did you get a phone call or email regarding your acceptance?

Thank you!!! The wait was definitely a lot harder than I had anticipated.
Because of the time difference, I got a late night email asking me to call Admissions (morning EST) whenever possible. I saw the email and immediately called them. Got the good news then
in your rejection letters, were any of you invited/ referred to the J-term program? I received my letter around 10 hours ago, with a paragraph or two mentioning that the adcom believes I'm a better fit for J-term 2014. There are other statements that do not guarantee acceptance however. Was given a contact to email in case I was interested.
I am 0 for 2 - neither prospective interviewer has even responded to my email. Just curious if anyone has requested to be interviewed on campus....I have a campus visit planned in a couple of weeks and thought that might be a good option, but do not want to step outside of the boundaries if that is the way it would be perceived. Anyone have any experience on this?

Those of you having problems scheduling interviews, are many of you in NYC? I'm a quick 0 for 3 after two out-of-towns and a no-response. Trying to re-search for another 3 on the app status page, and am now having some errors there....will have to call up the office first thing monday.

A number of people got this last year I know. I haven't heard much discussion about it this year but it might be worth listening to the suggestion. I'm assuming you are planning on remaining in roughly the same career trajectory you are in right now? If you aren't switching careers entirely then the summer internship isn't as important and J-term enrollment might make sense.

Thanks for the response mappleby. Im currently in consulting with a big 4 accounting firm, but I plan to cascade back into my family business after the MBA. But yeah, the internship isnt a make or break facet for me. I've emailed the contact, just waiting for next steps.
FWIW. There was only one alum interviewer in my area. I was invited on Friday, I emailed him on Saturday and he emailed me back within a few hours. We emailed back and forth a few times to narrow down a time and location and I'm doing my interview today, Monday. So at least in my case, it was a quick efficient process to set up the interview.
Does anyone know if the background check (they use Re Vera now) verifies just the current employer or the previous 2? As I understand it, in previous years (when they used Kroll), they only verified current employment.
