No, the RD deposit should be less. Somebody who has been accepted can chime in with the actual amount but they make the ED deposit higher to discourage you from cheating the ED system.

I'm not sure how Fuqua can be an alternative to Columbia?
Seems like some people are choosing between them?
Maybe it's the Michigan Duke rivalry talking but is Columbia and Duke even in the same league?

Congrats on the admit. I agree, I'm not sure why you would turn down Columbia for Duke. Ross and Fuqua you could make arguments either way but Columbia is definitely in a league above Fuqua.

I am attending the Columbia info session on Monday 2/11. Any suggestions on what to do other than attend the 1 hr session? I have an interview on 2/13 so hoping to really take advantage of the on-site visit. Thanks

Just got waitlisted after an interview :( ... I thought I would get in for sure given that my interviewer clearly told me that he was going to recommend me and that I would make a great fit for sure. This kind of bums me out for my other upcoming interviews (given that I rocked the interview yet it still wasn't enough) How large a part does the interview play in the application?

I have an upcoming HBS interview but now I'm worried that regardless of how I do, it wont make that big of a difference....Any helpful advice?

Ha! You're probably referring to me. If you read the thread I posted, the reason I am torn is because I want to do brand management and quite a few of my target companies are not on Columbia's employment report but are on Duke's. I'm hoping maybe that just means that is because they didn't hire anyone from Columbia but still recruit there. I don't know, you always hear about Columbia in the context of finance, but not marketing. So while I realize Columbia's reputation is better than Duke's, at the end of the day I want to go where I have a better chance of getting in front of the companies I want to work for. So that is why I'm questioning!

Does anyone know the exact dates (and preferably the schedule) of CBS' admitted students event this upcoming week? I got the acceptance call yesterday, but I am having trouble logging into the admitted students site. I really would like to attend the event, so booking my travel today would be ideal (I'm traveling from the West Coast). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Congrats on the admit call. I would honestly wait until Monday and call the admissions office though. Technically the registration for Columbia Connect 1 closed last week. As for a schedule, there is an optional even Thursday evening starting at 5:30pm. If you can't make Thursday, the official even kicks off at 8:30am on Friday and there are optional events all day Saturday as well.

Thanks. Matt Moll strongly suggested to me over the phone that I should attend, so I will definitely call the admissions office on Monday. Worst case, I heard that there will be another admit weekend in another month or so. Either way, I am amped to check out the campus and meet future classmates.

Hi guys, need some advice.
I interviewed with an alumna on 02/06. She said she had a couple of days to submit feedback and I could get in touch with her if I had any further questions. I wrote back same evening thanking her and implying I didn't have any further questions. It's Monday evening ( I'm based out of Asia ) and she still hasn't submitted the feedback. Is there something I can do about it?
Writing to school or sending her a message? Or should I just wait?

Keep your head up amigo. The application proces for top MBA programs is a black box. Just because you got dinged from Columbia, doesn't mean that you won't go kill your HBS interview and get accepted. I got into 4 of my 5 schools, but didn't even get an interview for HBS. So take advantage of the opportunity to interview at the best school in the world. Best of luck.

Keep your head up amigo. The application proces for top MBA programs is a black box. Definite truth to this. One of my buddies who has been helping me out during the process got dings last year from Wharton, Booth, and Kellogg. The only school he got into was Harvard. Tough getting so many dings, but end of the day he's going to be a Harvard MBA.
