0.1+0.1^2+0.1^3=

(A) 0.1
(B) 0.111
(C) 0.1221
(D) 0.2341
(E) 0.3

sometimes i get confused with doubling the decimal point so i will do in below way.

1/10 + 1/(10)^2 +1/(10)^3
=0.111

(A) 0.1
(B) 0.111
(C) 0.1221
(D) 0.2341
(E) 0.3

\(0.1+0.1^2+0.1^3\)

\(= \frac{1}{10} + \frac{1}{100} + \frac{1}{1000}\)

\(= 0.100 + 0.010 + 0.001\)

\(= 0.111\)

Hence, answer will be (B) \(= 0.111\)

A less efficient but fun way to solve through factoring:

Factor out 0.1 and we have:

0.1(1+.1+0.1^2)

0.1(1+.1+.01)

0.1(1.11)

.111
