It's a soft cap. But think of how many Indians are applying from other countries. They don't get thrown in that pool.

I am from that super competitive Indian pool, and my app sucked: 660 Gmat and B- GPA. I still got in.

Well yeah its a soft-cap, and I do agree that Indians applying out of India might be considered out of the Indian pool.

You might still be having stuff which might be really interesting like you work for a different field of work other than the most common field - IT (in India). And yeah one thing which matters a lot is the essays you have put in the application and the LOR's you get.. If they are top notch, the chances go up correspondingly..

You are the first Indian to get into INSEAD purely base on good-look and charm. GMAT score and GPA doesn't matter

Thats where I read 10% cap. I am not yet admitted so I dont have stats to show but as far as I know all NRI are in Indian pool (one of the alumni rep told me). If you are talking about the 25% on FB then keep in mind there are countries where FB is still not used.

I thought ChickenTikka was in through bribing by his BIG salary !

Last week, I received 2 emails: the pre-selected interview invitation and the interviewers information (on the different dates).
Did you guys email the interviewers right after you received the interview information email from your coordinator?

Because I want to prepare for an interview for at least two weeks, I am afraid that my interviewers would say that he/she wants to see me this week or next week.

Should I send an email to my interviewers ASAP and schedule for an interview?
or should I email the interviewers after a week and schedule for an interview?

You dont need to be that prepared for the interview. Seriously relax. This is not gonna be them grilling you. Demonstrate that you are mildly interesting, internationally focused, and that you have real logical reason to be going to Insead. It's pretty simple. If you can't do that in 30 seconds of thinking then you wouldn't have gotten to past the initial round.

You'll get email and contact details for your interviewers a few days after they let you know that you have made it to pre-selection. You will then call these people up (which is better than emailing them) and arrange a meeting at their convenience. You have generally about a month to do the interview, so you do have a chance to prepare if you really feel the need to wait.

I did my interview right away and was glad I did. It was such a walk in the park and if I'd spent two weeks practicing my answers to questions I would have felt awfully stupid afterwards.

You are an interesting person. You are international. You know why you want this.

Interesting read in economic times ..
https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/new ... ms?curpg=3

"The number of Indian students coming back from Insead has also been going down over the past two years. While 27 students returned to India in 2011 of 104 Indian students, the number dropped to 11 in 2012 from a batch size of 111 Indian students. " - The point i want to highlight is that there were 111 Indian students last year and 104 in 2011. Which is typically 10%. So i think 10% is not really a soft cap :)

Now isn't that painful to read being an Indian.. :(

I suggest you should be capable to explain your CV within 2 minutes. Also know your story with details. If you led a project, be able to provide dates, members' names, and how exactly you made project schedule. Know key players in the industry you want to work for after graduation. etc. you don't need 2 weeks to prepare

I am too lazy to write anything longer than 3 sentences. So, All I can say is be yourself. If "yourself" isn't fit with INSEAD, then it isn't meant to be
