I may be speculating here, but perhaps those who are seeing their info disappear are the ones getting admitted. Post interview admission at Wharton is around 40%? In any case, it is the minority..just like the 3 out of the 10 or so people who have posted about not seeing the "welcome / next steps" page...

I like your theory, as that appears to be the case on my page as well... Says only "Welcome", has a picture of a student named Todd Mortenson, and then a pretty messed up little knowledge today section with a link to "Greening the Sports Industry"

Oops..I think I have caused a bit of confusion with my post. I think there are two groups at the moment:
1) those who log in and see that their info has been wiped out, and are prompted to fill it out again; and,
2) those who log in and see "welcome", "next steps", "greening the sports industry", etc.

My theory is that group #1 are the admits, which does not bode well for us (whose info was not deleted)..

Hate to burst your bubble, but their theory is for those who had previously created profiles and had to fill in their information again. It seems the majority of us have had the info after logging in disappear and only see the "Welcome" screen (I am in the same boat :roll: )

I was having a look through last year's thread and came across this post by Tovin that made me smile :) Thought it deserved a repost! Good to know that some things don't change ... I think we have experienced a couple of these points already :-D

Tovin

If I were Wharton, I'd hire a Chief Panic Officer. The CPO would be responsible for inciting absolute panic amongst all of the applicants. Key responsibilities would include:

1) Calling just 5-10 people the day before the decision release date to let them know they were accepted. Just enough to have word spread that "phone calls were being made" and cause mass hysteria for the 99% of applicants that didn't receive a phone call.
2) Continually enabling and disabling aspects of the online application and MyWharton page. Activities range from modifying links to changing the number of info boxes shown online. Randomly inserting the word CONGRATULATIONS on the online app and then taking it down 10 minutes later would be worth bonus points.
3) Sending mass emails regarding financial aid to a random sample of 25% of applicants.
4) Announcing to all applicants that "the process is going to be different this year," but not saying how.
5) Announcing to all applicants that due to an overwhelming number of applicants this year, decisions wouldn't be released until Christmas Day. Retract that statement a few days later and say that brand new people have been hired to review applications in response to the high volume.

I'm relatively confident that's not the case. For some reason, even after signing up for my interview, I always got the screen asking me to re-submit my information. I did that today after seeing this thread and it took me to the "Welcome...next steps" page.

I would imagine after the previous "glitches" mentioned and the ensuing panic, schools are now keen to not let that happen again. I don't think anything new short of "official news" should be taken as an indication of your chances. Just sit tight!

Same here, a few days after being invited for interview I got the screen asking me to re-submit my information. I did it at that time, so I guess that's the reason I didn't get the screen again this time.
