Yup, I don't think it has any correlation to being admitted. I too had received it last year.

@hyperactive010, no problem! Per my discussions with the Ad Com this weekend, R2 and quite possibly R3 decisions will be out earlier than expected. Good luck to you all!

That's good news! I wonder why they will be out earlier than expected. I heard less people applied this year so that might be a reason?

Actually, this was the first year there were more Round 1 applications than the previous year. I just think the Ad Com is being more efficient and doing a better job of meeting the actual candidates through all the events offered on campus. That is just my two cents.

That's kind of what I was thinking when I made that "if I was a betting man" comment a few weeks back. The R2 window from interview to official notification deadline is considerably longer then R1. However, if there were more R1 applicants that were screened in a shorter period of time it seemed logical to imply R2 decisions may come out sooner. Wishful thinking is always a more enjoyable experience IMO.
