Thats right..If it says 8:4:1 it means the same. 6160 applicants for 770 seats.
But I really doubt two things:
1) Is it 8:4 ( 2:1 ) case ? Meaning would ISB call every second candidate ? I really dont think so. I guess the ratio should be more like 10:3:1
2) which makes the number of candidates more 7700.
I dont think any where less than 8k would have applied.

Even i think there are more than 6160 applicants for sure.
Last year my applicant ID was 8827 and i submitted at 4PM on 31st Nov.
And i all probability this stands for the number of applications.
People must have submitted after me also.... so that makes the applicants somewhere around 9k
So i think that 8:4:1 ratio is not that accurate ...

Ankur, where to look for the applicant id. Is this the application number or something else. Because application no. is in 6 digits not 4. Is it that the last 4 digits have to be considered only?
Also one more small doubt, I read it in blogs that the criteria which ISB follows for admit is a consolidated/holistic score criteria. The bifurcation is somewhat like this
12th - 90%tile - +2; 80%tile - +1 else 0
Undergrad - 90%tile - +2; 80%tile - +1 else 0
GMAT - 760+ - +2; 680+ - +1 else 0
Work Experience (quantity) - 2 to 6 years - +2; else 0
Work Experience (quality) - +10 for highly relevant; +5 for relevant; else 0 {relevant means the application as a whole make some good quality work ex.}
Extra Curricular & others - good +5; else 0
Essays - 27
Total: 50 (max) {2+2+2+2+10+5+27}
This I saw while browsing. I don't know how far it is true. Also there is no mention of the interview marks in above. Just want to ask whether this is correct and if so, how much weightage interview has.
