Hi BB and team,
Today while going through one of the documents uploaded by Bunuel for Tough Quants PS questions, i came across a few mathematical tips that are otherwise very rare to find in the materials available for GMAT Prep. This made me wonder if there exists such a repository here where i can access all such tips and tricks which would really help me in my prep esp. in tackling tough questions in a very short time.
This is when it struck me that it would be awesome if we could have a feature like "GMAT Tip of the day" which could be similar to what we have as "GMAT question of the day" now. If it poses logistical constraints , then we can even include this feature as a part of the "GMAT question of the day" feature, within which we can have a tip for both Quants and Verbal.
What do you guys think?
Thank you. I think it is a great idea... we just need to collect the tips. Can you share the link where you found those initial/original tips?
Thank you!
Well i have found these tricks from varied resources on GMAT Club. For instance i found a few Probability related tips from this document compiled and uploaded by Bunuel in this thread :
hardest-area-questions-probability-and-combinations-101361.html . An example of a good formula i learnt here was : The total number of ways of dividing n identical items among r persons, each one of whom, can receive 0,1,2 or more items is C(n+r-1,r-1).
Also saw a good tip in a quadratic equation post from Bunuel :
if-r-and-s-are-the-roots-of-the-equation-x-2-bx-c-141018.html#p1134397A nice Geometry concept from Bunuel in this thread :
is-the-perimeter-of-triangle-abc-greater-than-87112.html#p654727So while browsing through GMAT Club's different forums if i come across such tips and tricks i try to make a note of them. I observed that Bunuel is the source of most of these valuable tips so maybe he can help us come up with such a collection.
Or we can create separate threads just for such tips and tricks where the club members can keep posting whenever they come across such a tip.So it would be like we can one thread for Quants, one for SC,one for RC and so on.
Just wanted to add my 2 cents to this thought, leave the final decision on how to implement this to you.
Thanks!
