It's not the why thing that I'm concerned about. It's about articulating the attachment that I feel towards one of the principles. :/
The issue is that one can't plan events to show attachment to the principle that I'm writing about, hence the stagnation of thoughts...

i thought about asking for that but since they already assigned an adcom interviewer i didn't want to further complicate things. they already have their hands full coordinating all the international interviews within a one week span. figured it would be tough to ask for last minute change although i'm def willing to travel to nearby city.

That's quite a dilemma you're stuck in.
I had similar dilemma and dropped them a mail.
