FROM Oxford Admissions Blog: Michaelmas – that delightful time between summer and winter
Michaelmas is a term in both senses of the word. A period of time and a loaded concept, it stands for: ‘When leaves turn red—freshers abound—must get back into reading/writing/thinking (never mind the order)—I’m soaked through again—can’t wait for mulled …

Basic question, want some opinions.
In the CV, converting figures from INR which are substantial to GBP make them seem insignificant.
So what do you put on the CV? Should both INR and GBP/USD be mentioned or will the adcom assume that the figures in GBP/USD mean a lot in INR?

I would say put in rupees but potentially put in GBP in brackets. I'm sure the recruitment team are widely aware of the relative purchasing power of a rupee in comparison to the pound so don't think you should fear that but certainly don't let them think you are trying to hide it!

I tried to quantify other factors too such as number of countries, employees and percentage of business involved etc as thats easier to understand than the currency which may not seem significant.

I second that.

Hi Guys/Gals,

I decided to put up a very short interview debrief given that I'm getting a lot of PMs from people asking for one. Oh,, and I would like to request anyone who is reading this thread and has questions related to essays/interview etc. to post those questions directly over here rather than send PMs. This way a lot of us can give you feedback and it also helps keep this thread active.

Anyways, here goes:

Was the interviewer a student, an alumnus, or a staff member? : A Sector Consultant
Month of Interview: October
Length of interview (minutes): 32
Place/conditions of interview: Skype Video Call
Will the interviewer have your essays? Recommendations? :
Yes, He had read my file beforehand, not a blind interview. He pretty much knew my app inside-out.

A few non-specific questions that I was asked:

Why MBA, why now?
What makes you think you can get in the Oxford MBA program?
Tell me about a time when you became self-aware in a collaborative setting/environment?
Tell me about a time when you convinced other people as a team?
You say a lot about social responsibility, what actions have you taken?
Any questions for me?
Anything you feel the need to explain about your candidacy?
Other questions were my app specific.
Thanks for reading!

Bump !!

No point in bumping this thread!!

I think there are fewer applicants to Oxford in R1 because of multiple stages. Hopefully it picks up by stage 2!

Btw, Anybody done with the interview yet??

Waiting for your update Arshad, how did the interview go?
