OG 2016 Edition is Coming in June

https://gmatclub.com/forum/download/file.php?id=25974 New Official Guide for the GMAT 2016 is coming June 8th or sooner Also another version of the Verbal OG and Quant OG are expected (this will be the third edition of these books) The description promisses 25% of new content which means as many as 225 questions will be new in the OG. As a reminder, the 14th edition of the Official Guide (OG 2015) did not contain any new questions and was a let down . The main addition was the quiz engine to serve questions online in a form of a quiz. However, that feature has not been very useful due to a number of usability issues. My hope is that we indeed will see some new questions (preferably harder since there have been few hard questions in the OG ) and not so much reposts from the GMAT Prep or Power Prep software. You can see detailed overview of Official Guide Questions here . I am hoping the new edition will fix the issues with the quiz engine. As soon as it is available, I will be reviewing it. Wow!! Lots of promises after a serious let down edition. More than 200 new questions will be of lesser uae if the question difficulty level is not high.
Online feature is only active for 180 days so hopefully they grant a longer usage to the buyers.
Fingers crossed , i am looking for some challenge questions to get published.

Actually, OG in my opinion is a false hope. Even considering 25% of new questions, at the end of the day is not a bargain

Better to buy the exam pack 1 with 400 questions with a lot of really hard ones among. Moreover, integrated in the GMATPrep software for a better usability in terms of score, percentile, set up a bank, how many time you spend on a question and so forth.

Definitely a better way to study and improve.

FYI - The 11th and 10th edition also contain quite a selection of retired questions that have been dropped.
However, there are questions in those books that overlap with GMAT Prep, so anyone considering use those should beware - they will end up inflating their GMAT Prep scores and using those old resources may just not be worth it...

Same goes about the PowerPrep. Use it only after you have covered the GMAT Prep Software.

A small tip - often the books are released 1-2 weeks earlier than the website says.
Also, I have pre-ordered plenty of books and it is sometimes frustrating with Amazon as they don't ship the people who have preordered first. They make the book available early but wait to ship the pre-orderes, so often a person ordering in June, the day the book is available will get it sooner than I who has ordered it months in advance. It really annoys me.

The release of OG 2016 will not have any earth shattering impact on anyone who is preparing for the GMAT. There will be no miraculous disclosures in the new edition that will give anyone an edge, all they are going to do is update it with 25% new questions. This is good, because OG 2015 was identical to OG 13th edition and it was useless on the part of GMAC to even release the OG 2015 version.

If you need practice questions that were used in the official GMAT testing in recent years, then get the GMATPrep Question Pack 1 which has a pool of 400 practice questions.

I am a bit new to this forum and have just started GMAT preparation, I have read a number of threads conveying that one must study OG material to get a glimpse of actual GMAT question. I have decided to go through the OG material as my 1st priority in GMAT preparation, I have bought OG GMAT review 2015 and not sure if I should buy the other 2 separate OG of quant and verbal. can someone tell that whether the separate OG of quant and verbal are having the same content what OG GMAT review has?

The official Quant Review and Verbal Review books are completely different from the Official Guide - the questions do not overlap at all. So they're definitely worth getting i you'll have time to use them.

Does anyone know how quickly MGMAT and other test prep companies will react to this, in terms of updating their guides to refer to this new version?

There is no overlap between the three official guides, the main official guides and the quant and verbal supplement.

I have looked at the new questions in the official guides(quant only), and the questions follow the established pattern of GMAT.
I am not seeing anything radically different.

My guess would be that most test prep companies will wait for the release of their next guides before updating them to reflect the
content in the new OGs, meaning it is unlikely that they will immediately release updates just for these new questions published in 
the OG.

I have pre-ordered it and still did not get it.... Amazon said sometime later this week or early next week.
I will review and report on the changes, but prelim reports (and cover of the book) say it is 25% new questions.
