I got answer E.

3(5)-5+5^2.

I think this question is sub-600 even though I hope its not because it was easy for me.

Kudos for a correct solution.

800score Official Solution:

On test day, the # symbol or any other such symbol in a question will represent a function.

In this case, a#b = ab – b + b^2 is a function. Simply substitute a = 3 and b = 5 into the formula and calculate:
3#5 = 3(5) – 5 + 5^2 = 15 – 5 + 25 = 35.

The correct answer is choice (E).

If a#b = ab – b + b^2, then 3#5 =?

here,a = 3 and b = 5
so,3#5 = 3(5) – 5 + 5^2 = 15 – 5 + 25 = 35.

correct answer E
