Hey thanks for your reply! Honestly I am not sure if I can increase it by 40 points in the given time constraint that's why I'm wondering if its wise to go through the pain again.

I am a field engineer for one of the largest oil and gas service companies in the world and the first and only female engineer to work in my division in Pakistan. Also my undergrad is from the top engineering college of my country with a 3.6 gpa. I have a total of 4.5 years of experience till now.

Posted from my mobile device

That is awesome. I am glad you got a call.

A lot rides on how much time do you have before your interview. What stage are you in your interview preparation and what else is required to be done.
As others have said you have the 'X' factor and that is why they have called you for an interview with a way below average gmat score, make sure not to blow up something which is already good in order to achieve something which is not at present.

Secondly, how much time you had given to gmat study, difference in score of official mock taken before exam and your actual gmat score, your background (poet or quant) and corresponding score breakup, and untouched material if any will signify whether you can achieve a score increase in a short span of time.

I have a 760 on the GMAT and I will be applying on round 1 for class of 2020 and if you want I can try helping you in increasing the gmat score in a short span of time. You can try giving the mock from an exam pack and if there is a score improvement you can go for an actual GMAT. In return, if you succeed, I'd appreciate if you may provide application guidance to me. I am also from Oil & Gas energy sector but from engineering consultancy end. PM if the proposition seems interesting to you.

They already invited you. That means your GMAT is not an issue. Now it's all about how you express yourself in the interview. With your profile, you are unique enough to afford having a 640 GMAT. Someone else with 780 will compensate for your GMAT in the applicant pool.

Ya i concur with that low of a GMAT your profile is really unique and they really want you there. Just be yourself , here's a great informative video.

Hello Team,

I have received an interview invite from HBS however my gmat is very low 640. I was wondering do I need to take the test again before the interview. I am in dilemma if I should spend time on gmat or just concentrate on my interview prep.

Really looking forward to your response!
there is no need for this ...just be focused

That is amazing! I'm doubting myself about applying to HBS and your post gives me the much needed boost!
If HBS is interested in you with a 640, you must be truly unique! I wish you the best.

Hello all! don't let a low gmat discourage you completely. It is an important factor but not the only factor make sure you make your application as good as you can
