Hi ashishsuman,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What materials have you used?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
4) What were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores when you scored 540?

Goals:
5) When are you planning to retake the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi everyone,

I took the GMAT and got a low score (540). I am planning to take it again but wanted some advise on when should take it for a second time and the materials I should get (mostly practice tests) to study. I feel like I know the theory but at the time of the test, I don't have the best strategies to save time...also, I really don't have the money to pay 1500+ for a prop course :( any advise is helpful!

Thanks!!

Hi Camirodri

Welcome to the gmatclub.
mention the breakup as well when you mention the score so that it is clear in which section are you weak? Verbal or quant?
Manhattan guides are one of the best guides to refer to improve basics.

Hi Ashish,

Yes - you are correct; my apologies. The questions are still pertinent though.

Did you do better in quant or verbal? or do you feel that you need to improve in both sections?
