I do agree and thought on same lines for eliminating options A,C and E. However, I have chosen option 'B' and my logic behind eliminating option 'D' is:
D- There are no advantages that check-in baggage allows over carry-on baggage that are of any use to business travelers.
Even if there are some advantages that check-in baggage allows, for time sensitive business travelers, there is no reason to think unless there is some reduction in waiting time

This is confusing. Here the argument is that business travellers want to save time. Conclusion is that hence business travellers do not checkin their luggage. I think the assumption is that there is no other reason why these travellers check in their baggage. I mean what if business travellers like to use some of the stuff in the baggage during the flight, maybe that is why they avoid checkin luggage. Or what if the business travellers believe that their luggage gets mishandled if they check-in. Basically the assumption is that there is no other DISADVANTAGE of checkin luggage other than the time factor mentioned. Or carry over luggage provides no advantage over check in luggage. What is mentioned in Option D is reverse of that.

If we go via negation method which should negate the argument, we say that there are advantages of checkin baggage and still business travellers chose to check in their luggage. That means that they are really considerate of their time and hence this would strengthen the argument.

It basically says THAT CHECKIN BAGGAGES DONT HAVE ANY ADVANTAGE, and if this is so then this could be the reason why they don't choose it irrespective of time.

C has to be the correct answer.  
Because if we negate C and say that check-in baggage have more restrictions or they allow less weight then the argument will collapse.

This is testing defender assumption logic. I am pretty sure D. was the intended choice, but the ordering of check-in vs carry-on luggage is reversed in choice D.

There should ideally be no controversy about the correct answer choice. The mistakes that some of the users on this thread are making are as follows....

0. Not identifying the conclusion correctly; the conclusion is that "business travelers avoid check-in baggage" and not that "business travelers avoid check-in baggage because they are time-sensitive"; that they are time-sensitive is a premise, not a part of the conclusion.

1. Biggest mistake: Assuming that "time sensitivity" is the "only trait" of business travelers; logically, there are bound to be other factors that must affect their choices. Such basic mistakes happen when, rather than logical reasoning, we over-apply the concepts we read in books.

2. Applying ANT incorrectly; after negation, choice D must become that "there are serious other useful advantages...for business travellers". Now think, if there are serious other advantages, isn't the argument weakened?
2.1 Applying ANT to begin with; keep this as a back-up option; this is time-consuming and not full-proof and needs to be applied carefully; else, it may lead to selection of some very hasty choices (B in this case, as sleected and passionately debated by many users on this thread).

3. Not seeing the howler in option B! Mistake on the lines of point 1 is in fact in answer choice B as, apart from being an extreme and hasty choice, it takes the context to non-business travelers!

Humble suggestion: When you disagree with something, please ask yourself "what am I missing?", rather than concluding a source incorrect; that is the correct approach to learn.

Even if there is any advantage that check-in baggage offers, how can we assume that business travellers are ready to give up "time-saving" advantage for the check-in baggage? Since the argument talks about the reason why business travelers avoid check-in baggage, this part of the evidence is required. The goals of two baggages are different. One is to save time and the other is to provide any other advantage, but not time-saving.

This goal switch is not mentioned in option D. Highly doubtful.

I can have the advantage of traveling on a train - cheap cost of travel. Also, I can have another advantage of traveling by a car - comfort and self-decided journey breaks. This itself doesn't justify which one shall I opt for. Another part is required - I am ready to go the cheaper fair while sacrificing my comfort. Only then I can establish the reason why I avoid traveling by a car.

I have a tough time eliminating option C - what if the restrictions etc are different for carry-on & check-in baggages? For example: carry-on baggage must have <5 kg weight, whereas there is no such weight limit in case of check-in baggage. How can a business traveler use carry-on baggage if the weight of his baggage is 20 Kgs? Would this not weaken the argument that business travelers should use check-in baggage only?

Request your opinion and clarification. I understand the Option D, but not completely convinced with why option C is wrong.
