Hi all!
I have a 3.3 undergraduate GPA in finance from Ohio State, a 740 GMAT, and a 2.8 law school GPA from a top 14 school in the US. Low gpa was partially because I ended up working during school for family financial reasons. Since graduating from law school, I've had five years of experience as legal counsel at some prominent nonprofits/unions. My goal is to get into management consulting (and hopefully after some years transfer those skills back into the nonprofit sector). Do y'all have thoughts on how the law school GPA will impact my admissions chances? I'm shooting for a top 10 B school.

Hello! Congratulations for a Wonderful GMAT score. I think you have a good profile to get into top 10 B-schools. Although I don't have an idea how much weight a law school GPA would be considered, but I suggest while presenting your profile you can highlight some extra-curricular activities and Working job to excuse your low GPA. if you mention only working (and not Extra-curricular activities) that might hamper your profile. Showing you had been involved in some leadership activity like an event or some campaign.
your undergrad score is good! I'll conclude that you should focus on the help of some best consultants!

Congrats on a 740 GMAT score! I recommend you target a range of schools, as getting admitted to a top 10 b-school is difficult for everyone. Your GMAT definitely speaks to your ability to succeed in the program. That said, your law school GPA will be a part of the admissions process and will be used to evaluate your capability to do succeed there. I recommend you address your GPA in your applications, but be very cautious on word choice - it cannot be a place where you use your working for financial reasons during law school as an excuse for a low GPA. I hope this helps.
