GMAT- 630 ( Q-46, V-31, AWA-3.5, IR-4)

Work Exp :
1. Worked for 4.2 years in Infosys. Progression from systems engineer to senior systems engineer.
- Handled several modules for US based client project, completed tasks as a sole person within tight deadlines and trained and mentored many new comers.
- Took many certifications within Infosys during the same timeline.
- Infosys Appreciation certificates and client appreciation certificate.

Volunteer Experience :
1. Involved in education of poor kids and other extra curricular activities at a local NGO.
2. Was a volunteer Animal Welfare NGO in the past for animal rescue.
3. Volunteer at Rotary club for education of kids and spreading awareness to them for maintenance of hygiene.

Extra Curricular:
1. Literary Captain of school for 2 years.
2. Certificate for presentation of research papers in National Level conference, Twice.

Do I have a chance at Alberta ?

Community Service 
-3 months as a team lead in an Indian NGO that works toward the upliftment of weaker sections of society through education and empowerment

- 9 months in a Malaysian NGO that crowdsourced funds for Rohingyan Refugees in Bangladesh

- organized charity soccer tournaments and treasure hunts for orphanages.

- organized donation drive for flood-affected victims

Co-curricular activities & achievements

Thank you for sharing your credentials for all of to review! If your priority is to gain admission and secure a scholarship, I would suggest you consider the following options*:

(1) Georgetown (McDonough)
(2) UNC (Kenan-Flagler)
(3) Cornell (Johnson)
(4) Indiana (Kelley)
(5) Washington (Foster)

*I am not sure if you will definitely get into these programs and how much you would receive in merit-based scholarship.

The two big issues in your profile are that you have only a 690 on the GMAT and you are coming from a very competitive demographic. That makes things difficult for you to gain admission and to be in the mix for a scholarship. Would you consider retaking the exam? 30+ points would go a long way in helping your chances.

GMAT- 640 (43Q 35V) GRE 321 (163Q, 158V) - Both are official scores. the GRE to GMAT converter puts these scores as equal, but the GRE would seem to be a bit higher when I look at GRE/GMAT average entrance scores

- Electrical construction/project management experience for ~7 years
- Government project management/process redesign for ~3 years
-Government team leader/contract holder~ 1 year

Volunteer Experience :
10 years exp with lights, sound, tech, setup, and teardown for local church/homeless soup kitchen organization

On the work front, your work experience is lower than the average required. You will need to make your profile stand out. Talking about the responsibilities you've taken on will demonstrate your potential. In terms of voluntary work, your applications should represent a collaborative leader and a compassionate person. You have been promoted to president, which surely indicates your maturity as a leader and how effectively you contributed to the community. Your ECs are good as well. Speaking about all this with enthusiasm would add diversity to your profile, and adcoms will get to know different aspects of your personality. Overall you have a good profile and do have a chance at Alberta. What are your post-mba goals? It plays a vital role while shortlisting the b-schools. What will matter most in your application is how you connect the experiential dots and build a great story to stand out from other applicants in the pool. You have a good profile for Alberta - overall well-balanced.

My biggest concern is your starting age. Alberta skews a little older (average age of 29) so it's not as much of a hurdle as some other top schools that hover around 26-27. Obviously there's nothing you can do about that!

Still, I don't think that will hold you back necessarily. Make sure you write great essays and articulate that really cool career goal you have laid out in this post.
