I just called and they said everyone will get a decision by Friday - which to me just sounds like you wait until Friday to find out you’re rejected. I asked if decisions will made throughout the week and she said yes but definitely sounded vague and like she didn’t want to give away too much information.

Definitely didn’t get a positive vibe from the call I guess, I’m thinking because she knows they already made most admits. Really not sure if I’m over analyzing it though haha.

Seems like no activity has happened today, and based on the other persons post plus the sheer numbers of admits so far (despite most people who applied aren’t on this forum) there are definitely some more admits to come, even if most were already made yesterday. So guess we will have to continue being patient and must remain optimistic!

But honesty, I won't put too much hope here since it is pretty quiet today, safely assuming most of admissions were sent out yesterday. With Booth's deadline is a month away, I would study for GMAT instead of just waiting for the decision now.

Agreed. I’m probably going to apply for winter intake to study properly and do well on the exam.

Has anyone heard of Kellogg having a waitlist for the PT MBA?

So I called today and the admission department insisted not to tell me my result or to tell me if they have been giving out calls to accepted applicants. They are very straight with that.

Don't give up hope guys! Yeah there may have been a lot of admits yesterday-- but I still think there is a lot more to go. For all we know they might have just done the first half of admit calls on Tuesday (maybe the first wave = first draft picks with stronger profiles/stats- or maybe simply just applicants who completed their interviews prior to 5/18?? Who really knows). Regardless, my guess is that adcom is prob still reviewing apps and deliberating on the remaining pool

I think there will definitely be a "second wave" of calls at some point, whether it be this afternoon, tomorrow, or Friday AM. My *guess* is that the majority of those calls will probably be to evening applicants.... all those evening admits have to be coming!

It's not over yet! Good luck everyone!

I was accepted yesterday over the phone (3.6 GPA / 5 years of work experience / GMAT waiver) and they said we need to accept our spot by 6/5 for those who had asked! The person I spoke to mentioned there was a significant influx of applications this quarter. Orientation is online over 2 weekends, and the quarter starts 6/22 already. Let me know of any additional questions!

I am not sure if I have made the wrong choice/decision. I asked the admission committee explicitly if it is a deciding factor when I select weekend or weekday program and they said I can change anytime after accepted to the program. If the calls were made base on weekend or weekday, means I am fighting with a different pool of people? May be I choose weekend but the competition is more fierce than weekday?

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing the news. It's good to know there is potentially hope for applicants with the GMAT waiver. Did you interview as well?

The other issue here is that they most likely made most admits for summer quarter prior to the extended deadline. Meaning, most people probably applied by the original deadline as wave 1 and got rolling admissions by early April. Anyone who applied during the extended period through April to May 4 is part of whatever residual pool they needed.

So if they already had applications submitted by the original deadline (I think that was like April 5) then maybe all of those people took like half the spots normally allocated for summer quarter. Then they got a huge influx of more applications once they extended the deadline and waived gmat, but now all the people in wave 2 are competing for fewer spots.

We’d have to see when they announced extending the summer deadline. I recall it was around when the summer quarter deadline was originally and it tempted me to just apply earlier rather than wait for Fall like I had originally planned. Pretty annoyed with myself overall.

Update: I just checked this theory. The original summer deadline was 4/1. And they announced extending it on 4/14. Basically well after the original deadline and After most people for summer quarter already had applied. So now I feel even more stupid for this not occurring to me until now. It means more people are competing for even fewer spots because they already had admitted most of their summer quarter by the time most people applied early May...

I did interview - and had applied closer to the 5/4 deadline :)

This theory is very probable.
However, Kellogg would have a second problem to resolve.

When they first announced the GMAT waiver, I reckoned a good portion of us that were Fall-intake prospect jumped on the wagon, given GMAC was showing September for next testing dates. The type-A MBA candidates would've applied by May 4th.

Given now that they announced GMAT waiver for Fall-intake, I wonder if their Fall-intake pool are as strong as some of the summer applicants. And the rejects from the summer pool also couldn't re-apply due to the inability to show improvements in such a short period of time.

Yeah I feel this -- this is a good point to consider. If this is the case, and there really were a very limited number of summer spots to begin with and ultimately way more applicants in the summer vs fall quarter (my assumption).... maybe adcom really will end up offering summer applicants a seat in the fall quarter. If they have strong applicants who would've normally been admitted in a normal circumstances and fit the criteria, wouldn't it be in the school's best interest to still admit those people, protect their intake and just push those individuals to the fall? Especially when the summer and fall deadlines are so close and both waived the GMAT? Who knows though! I'm obviously try to tell myself what I want to hear! ahahah

@..Alex... and @iay

Yes both of those points make a ton of sense, it’s as though they waived for Fall too because they realized the ripple effect it had so now need to entice a new wave of influx applications for fall to account for the people (like many of us) tempted to apply for summer early but might get rejected just due to the numbers game going on here.

I have no idea what will end up happening, but not feeling optimistic at this point. I am hoping others are right though that Friday may have more admits, albeit seemingly the “B-team” (pun intended).

I would love to be admitted to summer or fall! Hahaha otherwise it’s back to gmat studying for hopefully winter I guess... :/

To Alex’s point further, it makes me wonder if some of this extended waiting game into May 29 is so they can see who they do get during the extended deadline for fall (which is only June 10 anyway, so I’m sure theyre already seeing lots of apps for Fall trickle in). Could be why they are taking their time on rejecting people actually.

I just am really cautious about getting my hopes up with some of these theories like this, like that they’ll miraculously offer fall admission, but definitely makes me wonder why they’d make people wait so long to hear they are rejected. Or even these 3 days now if all admits were made yesterday; why bother taking all these extra calls and emails and inquiries if everyone else has been rejected anyway?
