Pvt. firm took no additional cost
AND
(-1 year) Graduating senior students/Total senior class was higher than ever
Conclusion- Privatization of 5 Public school has enhanced education.
(A) As a group, last year’s graduating senior students deserved the academic grades that permitted them to graduate.
- Hmm...I didn't think about this in my pre-thinking but I just tried to negate it the moment I saw the word "deserved". What if the students don't deserve the grades ? Perhaps, pvt. teachers have been giving higher grades just to showcase their good numbers. In that case, education is not really getting enhanced. I will keep it.
(B) High school teachers are more effective when they are paid higher salaries.
-Wait ! Which high school teachers are we talking about ? Private or Public ? In any case, i am not concerned about high school teachers. I could have have given a thought about senior school teachers. Eliminate B right away.
(C) Operating these five privatized schools costs taxpayers less per school, on average, than operating one of the state’s public high schools.
-You mean a private school operating cost costs less money, on an average, than that of a public school. So ? It may be higher or lower. The fact is the pvt. firm is not taking additional money to operate those 5 schools. Also, i don't need to compare pvt. and public school. Eliminate C.
(D) The percentage of senior-class students that graduated from these five schools was greater than the percentage that graduated from the state’s public high schools.
-The role of the private firm is to enhance the education in those 5 public schools. These public schools need to be compared with their past performances and not with other schools. Go ahead and eliminate it.
(E) The tardiness and absentee rates among students at these five schools have declined since the schools were privatized.
- So the decline of absentee rates will enhance the education ? Hmm...I have to assume that teachers are effective in that case. Another assumption ? Eliminate E.
