Hi guys. one concern. How do you guys justify paying 45 lakhs for a year? I mean if you take a loan it will take 7-10 years to repay it with monthly emi of ~60k.

I was also thinking about this. ISB easily costs you 40L+, add 10L more you can easily go for masters abroad which will give you global opportunities and not to say way more salary.

I don't think anyone else will be able to justify your question of 'why ISB'? You need to ask this to yourself and answer it yourself, aligning it with your long term goals. If you feel that you will be able to reach, where you want to reach, without ISB, you are good to go. However, if you feel that you need some vertical push then you need to justify that 35 lacs rupees is the sum, you are ready to pay for such a push, and whether you will be able to recover this from your post ISB earnings or not.

PS - It's not always about ROI or quantitative returns that a person does an MBA.

Not sure about that. But what makes you think it is going at a slower pace?

Last year decision tracker has many folks receiving their final decisions within Oct. It’s November and some are still waiting for interview decisions. The process does appear slow.

I can see admits starting from Sep and going all the till Feb (for just R1). R1 deadline was mid Sept this time. Not really sure how we can compare it with the last years tracker. Last year was very competitive. Also a lot of people deferred from Class CO’2021 to CO’2022. One possible explanation would be that the students who deferred marked it as admit in the tracker. or it could be anything else too.

Maybe some one else can comment here as well, but there is no way to be sure. Just be calm and wait. As per tracker no one has received an admit for R1 CO’2023.

Adding to what Aarjav said,

I was curious myself and went through the thread of last year. It seems that they started receiving invites from Nov 23 (even those who had interviews in early Oct) and continued receiving them till december. Also note that the deadline dates last year were different. I may be wrong since I didn’t read the entire thing very properly. But I think we should just be patient ☺

Sorry i meant admits* not invites

Was talking of Class of 2022. The tracker has decisions starting as early as October and pretty regular in the following months too. In any case, this discussion is without purpose. It is what it is for this year. We just have to be patient.

The results last year were rolling. Last year was an exception. Prior to that, the interviews were held location-wise and the results were announced on one date.
This year, most likely it’ll be in one go. Based on last years’ experience, ISB didn’t stick to any timelines or patterns so no one’s really sure how it’ll pan out. I intend to cover it in the session on Saturday.

Last year, the first lot was rolled out by 22nd November no matter what the GC tracker says. This, as we’ve said multiple times, is not in your hands so no point fretting over it or doing a needless paralysis of analysis. The best case should be that they announce on one date as it would lead to more rumours, anxiety and speculations.
As per your applications and aspirations, you guys are the ones who handle pressure well, have a mature head on your shoulders, best thing that can happen to ISB, etc. This anxiety is counter-intuitive to that 😊

Also, in India, IIMs one year MBA cost around 30 lakhs. Now these are government funded institutes.
not really.Iims have been autonomous for quite a while. Also there is a major clash between government & iim’s regarding validity of one year mba.

I believe autonomous is nothing to do with government funding. IIT and NIT are also autonomous institutes.

And Yes, there is a discussion going between government and these institutes on whether to award these one year courses as MBA.

Things to do while waiting for a short list or results of interview
1. Prep for Interview
2. Go gym/yoga/walk
3. Play abundantly with kids (if you have!)
4. Take up a hobby!(you know the one you always wanted but never really “got the time”)- coursera/skillshare/udemy
5. Take up a cause/volunteer..(you know the one you always wanted to but never really “got the time”)

Feel free to add to the list..:)
