Hey guys, should I expect invite to come…? Applied with GRE 338 but did not hear anything from SOM yet…

Congrats on the outstanding score! It’s tough to say when you’ll really get an invite. Test scores are only one aspect of the application. Your score, while very impressive, is not a guarantee for an interview. Goodluck!

When do they release the decison? Is it at the decison date or by the decison date?

Agreed that high score does not guarantee an interview. I spent tremendous efforts on my essay and SOM fits with my career vision. Hence I was a bit disappointed about the “result” - I took SOM’s silence as a rejection already.

I hear you Chohin. I’m probably on the same boat as you are but with gmat 760. While Yale does look for signs of academic rigour and proven excellence, samsung1234’s hypothesis on the holistic view of the application as a package must not be undermined. Let’s just hope for the best and keep our plan B in course.

Thanks mate. I'm even thinking about reapplication next year while waiting for the decisions from other schools. Good luck with your application!

I assume that Yale has rejected me already.

I have heard that Yale asked an applicant to submit additional material twice, but finally rejected him without interview.

For those who have interviewed already, SOM adcom just mentioned in an ongoing event that the post interview conversion rate is around 70%

I wonder what the interview % is. Do you know what percentage of candidates get invited to interview?

50-60% is the average conversion rate at most schools and is quite generic. Although 70% does sound like a moderately inflated value, it could nevertheless be true specifically for Yale?
