Sorry but I don’t agree on that! I’ll say just be chill and don’t get into comparing and making correlations out of these stuff. Just focus on other applications and just be prepared for interview!

I’m speaking out of experience. I’ve applied to 17 schools (I’m a reapplicant) since last year and over 90% of the time, what I’ve said is applicable. If I hadn’t received an interview invite by 4 weeks, it was either a waitlist or a ding. I have held out for hope until the last moment only for it to not materialize. I just don’t want others to go through something like that. Would advise people to be practical and move onto other schools/rounds.
Well based on my experience in two schools, I got interview invite 1.5 months post deadline and both got converted

Definitely, there are exceptions. And yes, until the result is out, one has to wait. I’m just saying that the chances are high in the first month since the application is submitted. And starts decreasing post that. Especially for overrepresented demographic groups.
Would it also impact the chances of an interview / admit if I wait till the deadline vs submitting now?

No, this shouldn’t. You should submit whenever you have your best application ready. The quality of your application/profile determines the invite. Although submitting early earlier than the deadline might get you an earlier interview invite.
