Hi everyone,
I would like to share my fresh GMAT experience as of today. I was going to take the online GMAT exam with my MacBook Pro, which is of macOS Monterey Version 12.2. Just when I open the security browser, it pop up an alert stating that there were a few processes in the background of the Macbook needed to be turned off, all of which were related to Siri, including siriinferenced, com.apple.siri.embeddedspeech, siriactionsd and siriknowledged. After I pressed quit the activities button in the pop-up alert, the proctor said the she could not see my screen and asked me to end the exam. After that, I spent a frustrating hour with her as she keep failing to restart the exam. Anyone share a similar problem with macos monterey 12.2, or it is just my bad luck to have such an unexperienced proctor? I have done the system check many times before the exam, which did not show any problem. I can feel that she really just expected to sit there and watch me for hours, and had completely no idea what to do.

Hello, hongkongasone. I am sorry to hear about your failed attempt to take the exam, as though the exam itself is not stressful enough. I have not heard of anyone running into issues with Siri using Monterey, but a few people have experienced problems with the OS in general. Perhaps this response or this more recent thread from January will help. It seems that at least one person has successfully taken the exam with an M1 chip and Monterey OS, so there is hope.
I am outside my ken when it comes to most tech issues, so that is all I have in the way of a recommendation. Good luck. If you do get matters sorted out, please let us know.

I'm sorry to hear about how things went with your GMAT. It seems as though you may have just had bad luck with your proctor but are you able to reach out to the folks at GMAC prior to retaking your GMAT? Just to make sure this won't happen again?
