Anyone working with any premium consultant and yet got rejected from HBS / Wharton? I had 770 with 3.5 GPA. Tobacco industry. 6 years WE. Got rejected from both of the schools. Wrote essay all by myself. Just wondering if any consultant would help to turn it around. Or was there anything to do with Tobacco Industry!! Or was my essay just not good enough!!

I have heard that essays can make or break it. Maybe check ApplicantLab and do a quick analysis of the submitted essays? Maybe it can give some idea? If nothing substantial comes from there, consider buying the "ding analysis" service offered by Consultants, before you decide to hire someone for the next round. Sorry, rejection sucks especially after having a godly GMAT score of 770.

I am trying to get a student for the mock TBD but so far I couldn’t get any.

So, I think we can go ahead and do the mock TBD without a current student helping us

Hey there - Just wanted to chime in here to say that the #1 thing you should NOT use to decide whether or not to apply to a school you're interested in is what you or anyone else thinks your "odds" are. Any acceptance rates posted are for the general applicant pool. All that really matters for any given applicant is how many people they have who are "like them on paper" -- THAT's who you're going to be competing directly against. And that changes from round to round and school to school and no one will ever know that info but the adcom themselves.

I would instead use your time working on positioning your candidacy as strongly as possible and ensuring that you are communicating all that you bring to the table beyond just your "stats." What can your fellow students learn from your life and work experience? What are your career goals and how exactly would Wharton help you achieve them? It would be an awful thing, in my mind, to NOT apply somewhere and then wonder "What if?" because you based your decision on odds that no one really even knows.
