The graph shows the percent of each type of employee at a certain medical clinic for the years 1970, 1980, and 2010. The total number of employees at the clinic in 2010 was exactly twice the number of employees at the clinic in 1970.

So far, only 13% have gotten this correct. There are 2 things we must do to proactively prevent an error:
1) Read carefully and distinguish between actual numbers and percentages. The question asks us for the "number of physicians", whereas the units in the graph are the "percent of each type of employee." The second sentence tells us that the total number of employees was twice as many in 2010 as in 1970.
2) Double-check the order of the ratio; we are looking for the ratio for 1970 : 2010. A common mistake is to choose the opposite answer, 2010 : 1970.
