A University conducts written examination and Interview for admitting students for a research program. Only those students who obtain more than x% in each of them and z years of experience are selected, where x and z are integer values. It is also known that the maximum marks in written examination and the interview are 100 and 50 respectively.

So, surely the cut off are at the most: Written - 70, Interview - 35 and Work Experience - 3
(a) Amol meets the criteria in all, so will be selected. The correct answer is A
(b) As the cut off are at the most: Written - 70, Interview - 35 and Work Experience - 3, Brent meets the criteria in all except Work experience, so let us check whether we get any information on the cut off in work experience.
Now, Priya has been rejected with 75-35-2. As she meets criteria in Written and Interview, so surely she has been rejected because of Work experience, which must be at least 3. Even Brent has a work experience of 2 and will, therefore, not be selected. The correct answer is B
(c) Donald meets the cut off in each, so will be selected. The correct answer is A

In question no.2, it is asked to the minimum % required in a Personal interview not written. For PI it should be I think 35% which is established as per the explanation provided for question no.1? Please explain
