Ashish, even the perfect profiles are getting rejected this year man, and then despite clear statistical evidence people still want to think there’s a shot. Idk what to tell them

Most of the profiles I recently saw over the weekend during our ding analysis were good enough. From score to overall narrative to resume.

VyasDivyesh, it is almost impossible for candidates with a moderately good profile, to make it to ISB, at a score of 530.

Hi Peers and Fellow Applicants. I am an architect with 5+ years of professional experience. Fortune 500 Brands, Experience in Workplace Strategy and Consulting. Looking to apply this time, do you think I should go ahead with R2 with 700 GMAT or wait for R3 and improve on GMAT?

Hi guys,

After reading so many reviews about Sarthak from CareerEdge, I would like to give my honest opinion about him. PLEASE DON’T GO WITH SARTHAK; HIS WORK IS REALLY BAD AND DISAPPOINTING.

Despite my doubts and confusion, I went ahead with him, thinking that since he is new in the field, he would give his best to deliver good results. We had our initial discussion, and I gave him a draft version of a 700-800-word essay, as he had asked. To my surprise, within the next 2 hours, he sent me a “ready” ISB essay of 400 words. The essay was filled with unnecessary vocabulary that seemed like he was trying to show off rather than focus on what was required. He also kept flaunting his testimonials and such.

I showed that essay to my friends who are ISB alums and doing well in their careers. They laughed and said this essay would take me nowhere. I politely suggested we make some alterations, but he responded by saying, “You give me points, and I’ll change it.” He made all the changes in 20 minutes. I mean, no matter how efficient you are, you cannot make substantial changes that quickly.

I spent hours working on it myself, discussing it with many friends and making several iterations. When I asked him for help to enhance it, he only made minor changes and said it was done. When I provided him with feedback on his services, instead of taking it constructively, he took it personally. He quoted fake numbers, claiming that no one had ever questioned his services before. I still insisted we try again to make it better.

But again, he made no real effort. Whatever I sent, his feedback was always “looks good,” “looks okay,” etc., with no meaningful input. Eventually, I gave up and worked on everything with the help of my friends and seniors. He would just send me recorded voice notes for each essay, and I believe the third essay on “Why ISB” was copy-pasted for everyone, without even checking if it made sense. I completely rewrote it myself.

He also advised me to create a 2-page CV and include academic scores, saying, “ISB waale iss baar pagla gaye hain ki scores nai likhne, so make a 2-pager. A 1-page CV is for consulting interviews, not MBA interviews.” I put my best effort into making the CV, spending hours on it and getting it quality-checked by others.

On 13th September, a day before my IIM A PGPX interview and two days before the ISB deadline, I previewed the form and saw that only a 1-page CV was allowed. I called the ISB team, and they confirmed that 2-pagers would not be accepted. I was already anxious because it’s not easy to condense a detailed 2-page CV into 1 page in a day, especially when you have a major interview scheduled for the next day.

Sarthak claimed he had discussed this with Ketan and Amit Tyagi, so I asked for a screenshot of their conversation. He said he couldn’t share it. I then messaged Mr. Amit Tyagi directly on LinkedIn, and he responded within an hour, confirming that only a 1-page CV was allowed. When I informed Sarthak, he once again took it personally. After I sent him the screenshot, he messaged Mr. Ketan asking for clarification, while pretending he had already spoken to him before. Then, he sent me a voice note saying our contract was over, and he didn’t want to work with me anymore, lol.

He is such a liar, and all the stats he uses are fake. Please, do not trust him, and don’t be trapped by consultants like him just because of the cost or other factors.

I believe that by not following any of his advice, I was able to convert both ISB and IIM B. IF YOU GUYS REALLY WANT TO CONVERT, DO EXACTLY OPPOSITE OF WHAT HE SUGGESTS AND YOUR CHANCES WILL IMPROVE BY 80%. Best of luck to future candidates in choosing the right consultant.

I could have written even more, and if anyone wants to verify my words, I’m happy to share all the screenshots and voice notes to bring the truth to light.
OMG, he’s used the same sentence again: "Discussed with Ketan and Amit, I am in close contact with the AdCom and have a good relationship with them, so I know the secrets, blah blah blah."

I don’t understand why ISB and the AdCom allow their names to be thrown around like this—it’s so unprofessional! It’s frustrating that he keeps misguiding people, like claiming a two-page CV is fine, which directly contradicts guidelines. And every time I questions him, he brushes it off with, "I verified it with Ketan/adcom just now."

This is so unacceptable. I’m planning to write a detailed, anonymous note to ISB with all the proof attached. Such behavior cannot go unchecked!

ISBpgpOfficial kindly look into this issue,

Yes, I absolutely agree. This should be escalated, this is like playing with the career of the students who are blindly trusting him.

Being an ISB alum, he’s not only risking his own credibility but also tarnishing the institution’s name, which so many have worked hard to build.

ISBpgpOfficial Please address this immediately before more harm is done.

Aarushi225, Hi,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m currently preparing for the GMAT, and I’m in a bit of a tough financial situation, which makes it challenging to afford comprehensive prep resources. I noticed that you might have recently completed your GMAT journey and could have unused time left on your GMAT prep subscription.

If you’re willing to share access or transfer a portion of your prep resources, it would mean the world to me and significantly help with my preparation. I completely understand if it’s not possible, but I thought it was worth reaching out.

Thank you so much for your time and support!

Hey folks,
Anyone who has researched about ISB and in the process of applying/accepted i have a request.
I’m a Fortune 500 PM with a 760 GMAT, applying for ISB’s R2 round (8th Dec). I’m seeking insights into the application process and would appreciate a quick 5-10 minute call or chat with a successful admit to help refine my application strategy.
Would anyone be willing to share their experience?
Thanks,

Hi all - can we put in our percentile increase in GMAT score in the reapplicant essay ? (Considering ISB has specifically asked us not to put it in the resume not sure whether we can mention any percentiles in our essays, since essays are also read by interviewers)

It would be helpful to understand your post MBA aspirations and linkage to how ISB fits into that plan. I am assuming from your score of 700 that you appeared for the classic edition sometime back. Given that the format has changed under FE, I don’t think it is worth the tradeoff of preparing with the new format and re-taking the exam which pushes your application to R3. If you have evidence from your recent mocks of significantly improving your score as per FE, only then this tradeoff might make sense. Otherwise go ahead and apply in R2 itself with a well articulated application. For a more detailed conversation, feel free to reach out to Preppie (https://www.preppie.in)
