Just by looking at MBA livewire, you can see that they also invited quite a few candidates with pretty meh gpa and gmat/gre

Kinda awkward to see those stats
Holistic review of some profiles are pretty good (showcasing personal, professional growth, skillset, impact...), it's not just about GPA and test scores. While strong academics help, schools like HBS, GSB, and Wharton also value leadership, impact, and unique experiences. Some candidates with fine scores might have outstanding professional achievements, compelling personal stories, or exceptional extracurriculars that make them stand out. You will always find such profiles, their "WHY MBA" story reflects how they really can achieve their Post-MBA goals and also contribute to school and collaborate well with the community. The admissions process isn't purely numbers-driven , it's about fit, potential, and what each applicant brings to the class.

Have a question - I applied to LBS, but I submitted the apps without the help of a consultant. Now, for the interview, I need some help with mocks, etc. Any recommendations for a consultant, preferably based out of India? (Something a little easy on the pocket).

Hey guys, does anybody know what funding and scholarships are available for LBS? Do they often cover a significant amount of tuition? Is there any external source of funding we must apply to?

I think European schools in general are not very generous with scholarships (don’t have as much funding as the US programs) and that in part applies to LBS.

However, the top programs are extremely competitive just to get in, let alone get scholarships. 😬

Yeah, I feel that. I actually went to Imperial for my MSc and was astounded at the lack of scholarships, but assumed it was true across the board. Had I known, i probably would applied for US Schools.

Anyways, if anyone can provide a little more color, I’d be extremely grateful!

Hi

quick question

I am planning to apply in round 3 for MBA at LBS

with GMAT Focus 655 , GPA 3.95/4 and around 5 years of work experience with strong promotions track record

should I go ahead or it would be better to wait for the next year?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi The8 ! Great GPA (3.95/4). Your 5 years of work experience with a strong promotion track record is also good but it's important that it highlights your leadership exposure too. Your GMAT Focus score of 655(710classic) falls in the average LBS’s score range 700. Applying in R3 is highly competitive since fewer spots remain, making it tougher for international applicants and those with lower test scores. If you have an exceptional work profile, international experience, and well-defined post-MBA goals, you can take the risk and apply now(if feasible, with a higher score). However, waiting for R1 next year while improving your GMAT (aiming for 20+ points) would significantly increase your chances, not just for admission but also for scholarships. Additionally, R1 provides more flexibility with visa timelines and networking opportunities before starting the program. If LBS is one of your dream schools, the best strategy would be to strengthen your application with a higher GMAT and apply in R1 for better outcomes.

If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a 1:1 call with you to learn more about your profile like roles & responsibilities, challenges faced, measurable impact, extracurriculars, international experience and more to provide a detailed evaluation and gauge your chances for the best-fit schools. Please feel free to schedule a profile evaluation call according to your convenience.

Hi The8 It completely depends on the uniqueness of your profile. If you’re from an overrepresented pool, keep in mind that by the time the adcoms review your application, they will have already admitted a majority of candidates. At that stage, the admissions committee will have a clear sense of the profiles they’ve seen and will be more (if not extremely) critical in assessing what additional value you bring to the class.

Adcoms aren’t just selecting candidates to match class statistics—especially with late applicants, they are willing to challenge their usual benchmarks if a candidate presents some exceptional high points. So, if you're applying later in the cycle, don’t fall into the trap of thinking, “Oh, I have the stats.” Instead, push yourself to answer, “What makes me truly unique?” That mindset will also reflect in your application.

If you have a strong feeling about your chances, go ahead and apply. Otherwise, consider waiting and applying early in the next cycle with better preparation. There’s definitely room to improve your GMAT score.

Best wishes

You can also check for applicants in Decision tracker, consider connecting with applicants who received scholarships in the past! Good luck.

Hello,

So there are 2 types of scholarships for LBS. 1. You’re eligible for as soon as you apply and you’re notified of the same alongside your offer letter. These usually range from 25% to 40%. 2. Post receiving the interview invite, you receive a link to apply for scholarships. Each scholarship is structured around a particular theme and you’ve to fill in a form with a range of essays to apply for the same.

It’s not true that LBS isn’t scholarship friendly- this year we’ve had 3 students with 25% scholarship and one student last year with 100% scholarship. It depends on which theme you’re applying for!
