****, The profile is heavily depended on quality of work, achievements, extra curriculars etc. So believing them to be above average, the profile is okay to be selected. Acads are decent and sales experience in oil PSU teaches you a lot about practical problems and issues and dealing with lot of unkowns. That will definitely help you to highlight your work in a good light in applications and interviews.

But the GMAT is on the lower side (considering general candidate). A 655 would have been better. If you feel you can improve it before R2 then fine otherwise apply with this score. You never know. Selections do happen with this score as well. Also, it is suggested to keep IIMC, IIML and IIMI in your list of colleges to apply to if you wish to.

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to take your guidance regarding pursuing an Executive MBA.

My academic background is:

10th: 70%

12th (Science): 63% (with a compartment cleared)

Graduation: Hotel Management (had a semester back due to medical reasons, but completed the degree)

Work Experience:

12 years in a Public Sector Bank as Assistant Manager

HR Department (handling staff-related work)

Branch Banking as CASA Assistant Manager

Now I am looking to change my line and explore new opportunities. I am considering an Executive MBA but would like to know whether my academic and professional profile makes me a suitable candidate, and whether this would help me make a meaningful career shift.

Any guidance, suggestions, would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Good profile, seems like you have done a lot in 4 yrs. A high GRE score (considering your low ep) will be necessary. The avg of the class is usually around 322-324 and you should target something on the same lines. That being said, many candidates do get in with lower score, and we have personally helped many crack top IIMs with much lower scores.
reach out if you need help.

Profile looks good, even with this GMAt score admission is possible; focus on a well thought through application and strong essays.

saurabh.eb, Public Sector banking experiecne is highly valued in MBA colleges. Having said that, it will be wrong to suggest that after 12 years of work experience you will find it easy to get what you are looking for. And this is not about MBA, doing an MBA is not tough. All these colleges charge heavy fee for college admission and they do many admissions seminars. Meaning they are afraid of not getting enough good candidates. So if you try, definitely you will do an MBA from one of the good colleges in India.

The bigger question is what you will get out of it and how. So it depends on what you are looking for. If career function change is the aim, then its helpful. If getting good salary jump is aim, not so much. Also, what level of efforts you are willing to undertake for the change. All these questions need more dicussion. Please feel free to schedule a call for more discussions.

But the answer of whether it will be meaningful career shift will need more factors to understand. For the profile suitability, everyone one is suitable, only the score requirement varies vis a vis competition with other similar profiles.

Hope it helped

I had one more doubt: whether multiple designations for same employer shall be added separately in employment details reflecting role changes or promotions?

Also where to provide 10th and 12th marks or certificate? Didn’t find any option in the form
